Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE) is a minimally invasive treatment. A thin tube is guided through a tiny opening at the top of the leg to the arteries feeding the fibroids. Tiny particles, about the size of grains of sand, are used to block their blood supply. Over time the fibroids shrink, and many women experience relief from their symptoms.
